Rev. Michael Brown serves as pastor of Christ URC. He was ordained as a minister of Word and sacraments in the United Reformed Churches of North America on September 19, 2004 at the Escondido United Reformed Church.
He holds the following degrees from Westminster Seminary California: Master of Divinity (2004) and Master of Arts in Historical Theology (2009). His MA thesis was on the covenant theology of Samuel Petto, with special emphasis on the Mosaic Covenant.
He is the author of Christ and the Condition: The Covenant Theology of Samuel Petto (c.1624-1711) (Grand Rapids: Reformed Heritage Books, forthcoming), editor and contributing author of Called to Serve: Essays for Elders and Deacons (Grandville: Reformed Fellowship, 2007), and has published popular articles in the Banner of Truth, The Outlook, and Modern Reformation magazines, and academic papers on historical theology in The Confessional Presbyterian Journal, The Mid-America Journal of Theology, Reformed Baptist Theological Review, Puritan Reformed Journal, and the Scottish Bulletin of Evangelical Theology.
Mike is a native Southern Californian. He did not grow up Reformed, but in the Calvary Chapel movement. He became interested in Reformed theology through the writings of Martyn Lloyd-Jones, J. Gresham Machen, and The White Horse Inn radio program. He has a passion to preach the gospel, teach theology, and help God's people grow in their faith.
Mike and his wife Janie were married in 1990, and have four children: Micaela, Alysia, Isaac and Iain. They live in San Diego.
Rev. Dr. Michael Horton
Associate Pastor
Besides being Associate Pastor to Christ URC, Dr. Michael Horton is the J. Gresham Machen professor of systematic theology and apologetics at Westminster Seminary California. He also finds time to be the main host of The White Horse Inn radio broadcast and editor-in-chief of Modern Reformation magazine.
Dr. Horton received his M.A. from Westminster Seminary California, his Ph.D. from Wycliff Hall, Oxford and the University of Coventry, and completed a Research Fellowship at Yale University Divinity School.
He is the author/editor of more than fifteen books, including Putting Amazing Back Into Grace, A Better Way: Rediscovering the Drama of God-Centered Worship, The Law of Perfect Freedom, Made In America, Where In The World Is The Church, We Believe: Recovering the Essentials of the Apostles' Creed, Covenant & Eschatology, Lord and Servant, God of Promise: Introducing Covenant Theology, and many others. His most recent book is Too Good to be True: Finding Hope in a World of Hype.
We are privileged to have him regularly teach our Adult Sunday School class. He and his wife, Lisa, and their four children live in Escondido, California.

Rev. Ferrari was ordained as Minister of Word and Sacrament in the URCNA on January 24, 2010, by the Consistory of Christ URC and installed with the specific calling as a missionary-pastor to establish a federation of Reformed churches modeled after the URCNA. He presently serves as pastor of small congregation in Milan, Italy. Rev. Ferrari previously served as a pastor in the Assemblies of God to a congregation in Sicily, and subsequently as a pastor of a Reformed Baptist church in Milan, which recently made the transition to a Reformed ecclesiology. His entrance into the URCNA was by colloquium doctum examination administered by Classis Southwest.
Rev. Ferrari possesses theological degrees from three institutions: a Bachelor of Arts degree from the Assemblies of God Bible Institute in Italy (1992), a Master of Philosophy from the University of Wales (2004), and another Masters degree (Dottore Magistrale) from the University of Milan (2007). He is the author of John Diodati’s Doctrine of Holy Scripture (Grand Rapids: Reformation Heritage Books, 2006), as well as numerous articles published in theological journals and magazines.
Andrea and his wife Cristina were married in 1992 and have two sons, Simone (Simon) and Danielle (Daniel). They live in Bollate, Milan.
