2015 Bible Reading Plan
What do you hope to accomplish in 2015? Get back into shape? Earn more money? Spend more time with family? Those are all worthy goals for a new year. But there is one that outshines them all: immersing oneself in the Word of God. Reading Scripture daily is an important spiritual discipline that helps us arm ourselves with the mind of Christ. While it does not replace sitting under the ministry of the Word in a faithful local church, it is a vital practice nonetheless.
This Bible reading plan is designed to take the disciple of Christ through the whole Bible and Catechism in one year. Roughly three chapters of the Old Testament are read in the morning for private devotions, and one chapter of the New Testament in the evening for family worship. This schedule runs from Monday to Saturday. On Sunday afternoon, between the morning and evening worship services, the Heidelberg Catechism is read in the sequence of its Lord's Days.
